Ms. Frizzle's Magic School Bus goes to the Library

Happy Halloween 2007!! Mom had the brillant idea of being Ms. Frizzle, not the science teacher, the Library Science teacher. Not going into the earth, or the human body, but into the world of books and libraries!! Earrings have small book photos, dress has book prints glued on and shoes have small books tied to them--just like Ms. Frizzle on her adventures. As usual, I couldn't have done it without Dad---I had the idea, got the photos ready and he produced them and spray mounted them on me. What a team! It would have been better if I had a red frizzy wig. It was a fun day at school.

The Happy Couple

Here they are only minutes later---no longer just girlfriend and boyfriend, but now a committed couple with a whole life ahead of them--together for always. Good luck Dan and Caitlin. We are so happy for you.

The Question

The famous luminarias that formed that important question--or was it a statement? Dan is forever indebted to Rachel and Emma for getting these set up that night--on cue.

The Engagement

How could we not have posted these before??? The fateful day--August 26, 2007. It will live forever in history.

At last, photos of our Yosemite trip.

Here are four shots of our trip in September 2007 for Dad's birthday. Enjoy!

At the Top!

We made it! 10,850 ft. And what a view. The sun was warm, but the wind was chilly. There were a few others up there and one offered to take our picture.

Above May Lake

A little blue jewel at 9000 feet.

Man of the Mountains

On Saturday we hiked to the top of Mt. Hoffman, 10,650ft. Along the way there were breathtaking vistas, including two other peaks we climbed together years ago--Cloud's Rest on the left and Half Dome on the right. Dad was in his element!

Dad's 61st Birthday in Yosemite

As the sun went down on a perfect autumn day, Dad enjoyed a hot meal of Pasta Primavera in his camp cup while sitting in his favorite backpacking chair (weighs under 1#!). His smile says it all--a perfect way to spend his birthday.

FOAM PARTAAAYYYYY!!!!!!

honestly, it was up to my chest at one point. it was worth the wait-til 5am!!! what a riot.

Did i really nail the song like Antonette's posture suggests? does a viking like war?

I sang-'Should I stay or should i go' by the Clash. And yes, at this moment, i was ready to go......to the club!!!

Ibiza was hardly ready for this motley crew, club ready and willing. Thats Antonette in the middle in the light blue-her hero is Elizabeth the warrior queen.

YOu know what? viva espana, it was a blast.

Here is the view from the beach. Was it really that beautiful in real life??? You bet your bottom. And the smaller island in the distance was one of the most expensive islands in the world-recently purchased by a Russian billionaire for 30million pounds~60million dollars. Damn!

Here is the view from outside our hotel balcony...just pristine spanish beauty. yum!

Me Laura and David gettin' our drank on at the nice little bar at the hotel....

PANDA Paul is Prepared!

The citizens of Palo Alto are sleeping a little easier these nights knowing that Paul Gilman is now a deputized emergency responder! Yes, after many hours of training, he graduated from the PANDA course and is part of the citizen team that will be helping during the next emergency. Look at that gear they gave him! Thank you Paul.

Shop Girl Makes a Great Sandwich

A big part of Emma's education this first year away from home has been working at a new deli in downtown Provo. Just look at that sandwich!!!! And what a cute girl! So Emma, what have you learned about serving the public their lunch?

Dad and Lizzy Enjoy the Canyonlands

After the race, Dad and Lizzy and Tom Taylor enjoyed traveling through Arches and Canyonlands.

Lizzy Finishes Her First Half-Marathon in Moab!

In just over 2 hours 15 minutes (that's about 10 minute miles) she ran 13 miles!! Stopping to walk only once, she fared well. She attributes her success to lots of hydration starting days before the race, the product "goo", and sheer guts and determination! You really go girl! All the Gilman's are very proud of you. So who will join her next year?

Who's the Man?

Okay, Dad couldn't believe this one. Why does he want to sleep by the head? Is this the end of tolerance of the Meister? Or just another sign of his devotion. He is definately a one woman man.

Grandpa Report

Now that Gramps has a caretaker, he is changing his shirt regularly, showering and shaving more often. We enjoy his excitement at this change.
